Current Mission: |
Produce terrific pop tunes, effectively market our music and our brand, have fun, and finally read "Atlas Shrugged."
The KnockOuts are currently recording "Food Chain of Love" on Kahn Man Records. It's all about love: unrequited love, love that wasn't meant to be,
love that defies all odds, love that dare not speak its name, love that never dies, and love as the subject of a run-on sentence. The Soldiers of
Swing bring their unique, charmingly cynical point of view to the timeless theme by
showcasing the brutal struggle for survival that lies at the dark heart of the mating game.

While the first record, "The Rise and Fall," was a song cycle about lighthearted topics, such as
political upheaval, clashing cultural and religious beliefs, and the ominous drums of war
(cementing for itself a reputation as the feel-good sleeper hit of the holiday season),
"Food Chain of Love" is retro AM-radio-style pop delivered with a mischevious flair and suitable for
indie radio, movies and streaming sites, TV shows, commercials, business presentations, academic seminars,
theater productions, and bar mitzvahs.
Check it out! You probably won't regret it much.

BLAST FROM THE PAST
|
One recent KnockOut mission was captured in a fascinating piece of cinema called "The Chechen Affair." Brilliant
documentary filmmaker Jean-Paul depicts the
high stakes, white-knuckle tension with a master storyteller's eye for detail, an investigtive reporter's nose for
facts, and, for some reason, a sperm sample donated by David Crosby.

Synopsis: Chechnya has battled Russia since the Reign of Peter the Great and his son, Peter the
Not So Great but Pretty Good - All Things Considered. When Soviet communism crumbled, Chechnya
broke off diplomatic relations and declared independence...and also commissioned a
national anthem called "(Ooh Snap) Shake Dat Thang" by reknowned Balkan rapper Notorious G-E-D. In the
ensuing struggle for control of the region, rogue Russian General Yuri Zyteslav's Spetznaz unit
targeted a remote former Soviet warehouse in order to sieze stockpiled biological weapons and sell them to the
highest bidder. (15% AAA discount applies!) Alden Kahn and the
Knockouts entered the brutal mountain campaign to locate and neutralize Zyteslav, destroy the stockpile, and pick up some
smokes at the duty free shop.
Jean-Paul's absorbing, fluid thriller is figuratively dripping with cynical double-crosses by oily thugs, metaphorically
oozing with sweaty
menace, and symbolically drenched with slimy, underhanded dealings in fetid environs. The secret is slowly leaking out on
the street: If you see only one dripping, oozing, slimy movie this year, slide on down to see this slick piece of work.
Industry insiders note that Jean-Paul's trendy affectation of going by only one name is completely undermined
because he actually uses two names joined by a pretensious hyphen. In a press release, Jean-Paul sniffed, "I hope my unique name recognition
does not distract the audience from the importance and integrity of my art...which is produced by me, Jean-Paul."
